Dena Diorio and Cathy Bessant are leading an effort to eradicate homelessness and expand low-income housing in Charlotte. A coalition of city, county, nonprofit and business leaders launched the effort to develop a five-year strategic plan to eradicate homelessness and expand low-income housing in Charlotte. The idea is to draft specific plans and identify funding by this fall, according to Dena Diorio, Mecklenburg County Manager.
